Bulldogs are special. Bulldogs are different. Those of us who have had Bulldogs for several years still remember our first Bulldog and how much we didn't know about them.

Visual Basic has always presented a problem for developers - it is notably proprietary; not only running in Windows-only but also a distinct subset of Windows. The latest VB.NET is confined to Windows 200x and Windows XP. There has been a Herculean effort, the Mono project, to port C#, VB.NET, ADO.NET, and ASP.NET to Linux aided by Novell. But the todo lists on VB.NET remain daunting as these remarks from the Mono website indicate " MBAS is a CIL compiler for the Visual Basic language, an extended version of VisualBasic.NET. It's based on the MCS compiler and still in heavy development, though many language features are already supported.". So a cross platform version of VB.NET equal in function to the latest Windows VB.NET is not likely in the cards

First off you need to delete all your trash, temp files, and files you no longer need. While in an ideal situation these temp files are deleted when the applications close but they aren’t. With poorly written programs, computer crashes, hanging programs and improper shutdowns always leave unneeded temporary files on your hard drive. These files pile up and start eating up hard disk space and start impairing computer performance. If your computer is moving at a snail pace then deleting the accumulated temp files may help to speed it up. You can fix some shutdown and download problems by cleaning up your temp files. Do the following:

Basic is useful and powerful tool for creating applications, scripts and web interfaces. I use VB every day, but it is a bad place to start if you are learning how to program. VB, while easy to use, develops poor coding skills and teaches you little about the way computers work. If you are just looking to create code and solve some problems, go ahead and start with VB. If you want learn programming, start with C and C++. VB is built into Windows and Office applications, so there is much of it that can be used immediately without compiling or importing libraries. For many simple VB programs you don't need any special development environment, just Windows and/or Internet Explorer. There are three primary areas where basic is useful: creating: Windows scripts, Active Server Pages, and GUI applications. Much of what you learn in one area may be used in the others!

BASIC is a family of high-level programming languages. Originally devised as a teaching tool, it became widespread on home microcomputers in the 1980s, and remains popular to this day in a handful of heavily altered dialects. BASIC's name, coined in classic computer science tradition to result in a nice acronym, stands for Beginner's All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code,¹ tied to the name of an unpublished paper by the language's co-inventor Thomas Kurtz (the name thus having no relation to C. K. Ogden's series "Basic English"). Some critics have humorously called the language Bill's Attempt to Seize Industry Control in response to Microsoft's policies with respect to BASIC interpreterss included with early IBM PC compatibles.
