Chief Mukoro Mowoe (1890-1948) was the premier nationalist of the Urhobo people in the western Niger Delta of Nigeria. He is credited by the Urhobos with steadying their relations with British colonizers and organizing community efforts for the education of the Urhobos in the new colonial arragenents. A wealthy businessman, he was the first legislator to represent Warri Province in colonial Nigeria.
